Marketing Budget

This page is meant for customers who have been accepted into the Performance-Based Marketing program. If you have not yet been accepted, please apply now.

If you have been accepted into the program, please choose a monthly pre-paid marketing budget.

Your budget will be used to purchase advertising. If your entire budget is not used in a given month, it will be rolled into the following month's budget.

The Risk-Free Perfomance Marketing Guarantee

Unlike more agencies who charge monthly fees plus a percentage of 15 to 10% of your ad spend, you'll only be charged for successful advertising that earns at least 5X the money spent on ads.

How this works

If you don't receive a minimum of $5 in revenue for every $1 spent on ads, you will not be charged for our service. Even if you earn $4.90 for each $1 spent in ads, our work is free.

Once you are receiving $5 or more for each $1 spent on ads, our fee is a percentage of revenue:

• 5% of ad revenue when you earn $5 for each $1 spent.
• 6% of ad revenue when you earn $6 for each $1 spent.
• 7% of ad revenue when you earn $7 for each $1 spent.
• 8% of ad revenue when you earn $8 for each $1 spent.
• 9% of ad revenue when you earn $9 for each $1 spent.
• 10% of ad revenue when you earn $10 for each $1 spent.
• 11% of ad revenue when you earn $11 for each $1 spent.
• 12% of ad revenue when you earn $12 for each $1 spent.
• 13% of ad revenue when you earn $13 for each $1 spent.
• 14% of ad revenue when you earn $14 for each $1 spent.
• 15% of ad revenue when you earn $15 for each $1 spent.
• 16% of ad revenue when you earn $16 or more for each $1 spent.

Some examples

If we spend $100 on ads and you make $400, you don't pay us anything. 

If we spend $100 on ads and you make $500, you'll pay us 5% which is $25.

If we spend $100 on ads and you make $1,000, you'll pay us 10% which is $100.

Here's the small print: Ad budget is pre-paid monthly. The amount of the budget spent each month may be more or less than the assigned budget. Some months may be lower and the remaining budget will roll into the following month. Other months may be higher. The available budget is the actual amount received by Benes the Menace after any fees from Shopify or bank fees, etc. Once you're earning more than $5 for each $1 spent in ads, an invoice will be sent. Because we're sharing the risk by advertising this way, the invoice is due in 7 days. If the invoice is not paid within 7 days, the amount invoiced may be taken from your remaining advertising budget. There is no setup fee for a site that is ready to go, however if there are items needed before we can start, such as setting up Google Analytics, the time needed for these updates may be subtracted from the first month's ad budget. This relationship can be terminated at any time by either party, at which point the ad budget will be used to pay any outstanding invoices and then any remaining budget will be returned to you. The Google Ads account will remain with Benes the Menace unless we make other arrangements.
